About Us

Our Mission

The Trust for Indigenous Culture and Health (TICAH) was established in Kenya in 2003. TICAH’s aim is to promote holistic health with a focus on culture, good relationships, healthy households, and community action. Our mission is to create informed, self-motivated communities that value art and traditional knowledge and are making positive choices and building relationships that address their own needs and rights.

Our Values

All our work centers on the belief that holistic health and wellness of individuals, families, communities, as well as TICAH itself, is achieved through living the following values:

  1. Diversity, Inclusivity, Unity and Teamwork
  2. Relationships (nurturing meaningful communities)
  3. Integrity and Leadership (walking our talk)
  4. Choice and Justice
  5. Beauty and Creativity
  6. Indigenous Wisdom and Nature
  7. Respect and Listening
